3rd Enterprise India Show, Mandalay, Myanmar

The 3rd edition of Enterprise India show, an exclusive exhibition of Indian Products and Services was held at City Hall, Mandalay, Myanmar from 9-12 October 2014. The show was held for the first time in Mandalay. The show was organized by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in association with the Embassy of India, Yangon, The Consulate General of India, Mandalay, Department of Commerce, Government of India, Ministry of Commerce, the government of the Union of Myanmar, Mandalay regional Government and the Mandalay Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MRRCI). HE U Ye Myint, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Mandalay Region Government also visited the Exhibition on 10 October 2014. 

The exhibition featured 65 companies covering approximately 25 different sectors viz., agriculture, agricultural machineries, food processing, automobiles, automobile spare parts, home appliances, water purification systems, industrial cold storage, electrical equipments, industrial equipments, lubricants, herbal medicines, cosmetics, handicrafts Indian textiles etc. The Exim Bank of India and the India Tourism office, Singapore also took part in the exhibition. The exhibition was inaugurated on 09 October 2014 by HE Gautam Mukhopadhaya, Ambassador of India to Myanmar, HE U Aung Zan, Hon’ble Minister for Economy and Planning, Mandalay region Government and Shri Viresh Oberoi, Mission Leader of CII business delegation to Myanmar. The 3rd Enterprise India Show offered a unique opportunity to the business community in Mandalay and nearby areas as the businessmen could meet their Indian counterparts from a wide range of sectors under a single roof. It also provided a valuable opportunity to the Myanmar businessmen to gain a firsthand knowledge about the Indian products as some of the products like, New Holland tractors, Mahindra tractors and three wheeler motorcycles were on display during the show. The show also helped to project the industrial and manufacturing capability of India to the people and business community of Mandalay. 

The exhibition was also accompanied by the visit of a 20 member high level business delegation from the CII Eastern and Southern region. The eastern region delegation was lead by Shri Viresh Oberoi, Chairman, CII (eastern region) and the Southern region delegation was led by Shri Suresh Chitoori, Chairman, CII Southern region. The delegation called on HE U Ye Myint, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Mandalay region and also held discussions with Mandalay Region Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MRCCI).
